In the past Gail served as an ATM Board Member representing midwives of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Gail is a lifetime member of ATM.
Gail completed all ATM certification requirements and passed all ATM certification examinations in 1991.
In the past Gail served on the ATM Midwifery Certification task force.
Gail was certified by ATM, but midwifery certification is now performed by the North American Registry of Midwives (see below).

NARM performs national midwifery educational and testing. In 1993 Gail completed and passed the NARM examination, thus becoming a member of NARM.
In 1995 Gail completed requirements for NARM certification and earned the designation, Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). At that time, Gail was only the second midwife in the State of Texas to be certified by NARM.
In 1995 Gail also completed training and requirements to become a NARM Qualified Evaluator.
